Inspiration in everyday experiences…

March 26th, 2009

two years ago while wandering around Milan i found this wall in a shop which ended up inspiring a super cool Table - cloth we made for one of our design clients. As i contemplate my trip back to Milan next month for this same show i wonder what new great finds i may run into if i keep my eyes open.

Do you know how that wall finish was achieved? It’s beautiful. Something to do with the composition and colour combination. Is it decopaged wallpapers?

when i was walking by wall i actually only saw it from outside the building and through a window. It honestly looked like paint where they had used tape to section off areas and then layered the paint on top of itself to create a little more texture.

Paint makes sense, especially in Italy where they love their Trompe-l’œil!

http://www.georgedawnay.com - stunning! What a skilled draftsman and figurative artist too. Skill that you don’t see everyday.
