Rubelli and FDV group join forces & our association grows

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

About 9 years ago Jessica found ourselves lost in Venice wandering down small street after small street and in our travels happened upon  a showroom in production. What caught our attention was a door that had been removed from the façade and was making its way down the street for repair. As is our fashion after a few questions we were invited on a tour of the remodel and left fascinated with the beauty we had seen and energized by the craftsmanship and the novelties most specifically how they were laying down the Terazzo floor. This historic antique villa was to be the new home of Bergamo Textiles. This trip Bergamo & Rubelli have again made an appearance. Bergamo has joined forces with the new face of Leucos as the FDV has recently acquired leucos and are working in cooperation with Rubelli in the presentation of one of their newest lamps the Damasco, but our connection to this new allegiance are even more intertwined as Euroface previously was the means for our access to these products and the fabric itself, Faust is one I personally just used on a project for use as pillow fabric. This is the first of many associated lamps Rubelli hopes to do in collaboration with FDV.  Life is funny!

Moai from Leucos goes worldwide

in a globally televised event Leucos unveiled its newest addition to the collection the Moai at Euroluce. the first day of the show this city of Moai was covered with black cloth and the booth cloaked in darkness. at 12 noon a model arrived to undress the lights pc. by pc. when they were all uncovered the lights one by one turned on. a camera now points to the onlookers who can see the new light simaltaneously on display in 14 other places worldwide. at each station a camera brings the viewer to euroluce and from euroluce we can see all 14 places around the world… now this is taking advantage of technology.

a few thoughts from euroluce

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

today i hit the big guns… flos, luceplan, you know the players and like the other million people walked around their sparsely set up stalls and was transported into the reality they wanted to create for me… there was a lot of LED technology on display which one would expect since Europe has essentially aboandoned the incandescent bulb and will soon say goodbye as well the the halogen lamp.

Wall Flower - LED Powerwall flower close

i also hit Terzani and was taken by Marco on a great tour of the lines now represented by Art Home Art

Marco showing me the Bond at TerzaniThe Terzani Family - Father and Two Sons
